| Abstract: | The politics of tradition in Mizoram is deeply rooted in the interplay between Mizo customs and contemporary political decision-making. Mizo society, with its strong emphasis on community, kinship, and customary laws, significantly influences governance and policy formulation. Traditional institutions like the village council (Hnam Dan) and cultural practices such as Tlawmngaihna (selfless service) shape political discourse, fostering consensus-based decision-making and community welfare. This integration of tradition and politics ensures that modern governance aligns with indigenous values, preserving cultural identity while addressing contemporary challenges. The abstract explores how Mizo traditions act as a bridge between historical heritage and modern political frameworks in Mizoram. |
