Abstract:This article examines the impact of minimum wage increases on employment levels across various sectors. By analysing data from multiple studies and economic models, the research highlights both the positive and negative outcomes associated with wage policy changes. The findings indicate that while higher minimum wages can enhance the standard of living for low-income workers, they may also lead to reduced employment opportunities, particularly in industries with high labour costs. The study underscores the complexity of wage adjustments and calls for a balanced approach in policy-making to mitigate adverse effects on employment while achieving economic equity.
Keywords:Minimum wage, employment, wage policy, economic models, labour costs, low-income workers.
