Abstract:The blue economy is a recently developed field that offers a sustainable way to utilize the enormous unrealized potential of our aquatic resources. The Indian government has made the growth of the blue economy a top goal. nation.  The potential of India’s Blue Economy has been compared to the Blue Ashoka Chakra of the country’s flag by Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.  Considering the significance of the Blue Economy in the nation. In order to fulfil its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goal 14 (SDG 14-Life below the Sea) of the UN, India has also implemented a number of actions to preserve and improve the coastal and marine ecosystems. Water) that promotes the preservation and sustainable use of seas, oceans, and marine resources for sustainable growth.  In May 2020, the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) initiative was approved by the Indian government with the goal of bringing about a blue revolution in the fishing industry through sustainable development. What we can see is that various governments have implemented several projects in this sector. This study examines in detail how the concept of the blue economy affects the fishermen at the grassroots level.
