| Abstract: | In the contemporary world or the 21st century, power has been majorly exercised through attraction, legitimacy, and cultural influence, not just through military capabilities and economic means. Soft power is that idea which helps the state to shape global preferences without the need of coercion or military abilities. In the 21st century, India has been continuously working on including soft power factors in its foreign policy strategy. Looking at India’s civilizational heritage and culture, with the democratic framework and diaspora networks, India is seen as a country which has worked to strengthen its presence in the Global world with the help of persuasion instead of pressure. This article will look upon these instruments and factors of India’s soft power diplomacy and evaluate its potential and limitations in today’s world.
